About Grover Basin Dog Park

Grover Basin Dog Park in Phoenix offers a spacious area for pups to run and play, complete with separate sections for large and small dogs. The park is primarily grassy, providing a pleasant surface for dogs to enjoy, although it can get a bit muddy on occasion due to the irrigation system. There are watering spots with pebbles, perfect for hydration after some energetic playtime. With a stunning view of the Papago Mountains, it’s an inviting spot for both dogs and their owners.

While many visitors appreciate the clean environment and the respectful community of dog owners, there are some concerns about aggressive dogs in the park. One recent review highlighted a distressing incident involving an aggressive German Shepherd that turned a joyful outing into a scary experience. It’s a reminder for dog owners to remain vigilant and considerate of the park’s atmosphere, as trouble can arise from irresponsible leash handling or aggressive behavior.

The park does not provide waste bags, so remember to bring your own, along with a watchful eye for busy street parking around the area. Overall, Grover Basin has great potential for a fun day out with your pooch, as long as everyone keeps a close watch on their pets and maintains a respectful environment.
