Tucson’s Iron Horse Dog Park, recently opened, brings a much-appreciated space for pups to play and socialize. While the park is well-lit and offers a clean environment, the gravel surface and the inclusion of larger rocks have drawn some criticism for being less than ideal for safe play.

Parking is a challenge, as there’s no close access to the park, meaning you’ll have to factor in a bit of a walk before letting your dog loose. However, the park does come equipped with double-gated entries, poop bag dispensers, and trash cans making it relatively easy to maintain cleanliness. While fewer shaded seating options for humans have been noted, the trees scattered around provide some respite from the sun.

Though some users have noted the layout could be friendlier for dogs, the overall vibe, cleanliness, and welcoming faces make Iron Horse a solid option for local dog lovers.
