What People Are Saying

My dogs love this spot. It's very large and provides a great amount of space for the dogs to run and play
Large park and mostly nice people. Regulars bring chairs, buckets, dog bags. Would be nice if the city fixed the irrigation and mowed but they pretty much ignore the dog park
Pretty clean and many dogs to play with. Like all dog parks just watch dogs when they enter to make sure they aren’t aggressive. (Some owners should keep their dogs on leash)

About Granite Park Dog Park

Granite Park Dog Park is a spacious spot in Sacramento, perfect for letting your furry friends run free. With a fully fenced area that includes separate sections for large and small dogs, there’s plenty of room for pups to play. The overall vibe here is laid-back, and many local dog owners bring chairs and supplies to enjoy the day while their dogs socialize. However, a few visitors have noted the lack of maintenance, such as overgrown grass and dirt patches, which can make navigating the park a bit tricky for both dogs and their owners.

While the park is large, some reviews highlight a significant issue with the availability of poop bags, indicating that dog owners often find dispensers empty. This oversight can be frustrating, especially when paired with the park’s otherwise friendly atmosphere. Despite this, the community feel is welcoming, with regulars often taking the initiative to bring their own supplies and help keep the place enjoyable for everyone.

Parking is convenient, and the park operates daily from 8 AM to 8 PM, making it easy to find time during your day to visit. Just keep an eye on your pets as they mingle, since some dogs may not be as sociable as others. If you’re searching for a casual park where your dogs can romp freely, Granite Park is worth a visit, but be prepared for a few maintenance and supply challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Granite Park Dog Park fully fenced and safe for off-leash dogs?
Yes, Granite Park Dog Park is fully fenced, making it safe for off-leash play. That said, reviewers do mention that some owners bring dogs that can be reactive, so it's always a good idea to watch the gate area when new dogs enter.
Are there separate areas for small and large dogs?

What amenities are available at Granite Park Dog Park?
The park is large with plenty of open space to run. Regulars tend to bring their own chairs, waste bags, and water buckets since the city-maintained amenities like irrigation and bag dispensers aren't always reliable — worth packing your own supplies just in case.
