This park has so much potential. Yes it’s next to homeless camp but city cleaned up street so in front of park there’s no problem parking and no one will bother you

About Guadalupe Dog Park

Guadalupe Dog Park in San Jose offers a sprawling 4-5 acres for dogs to run and play, making it one of the largest dog parks in the area. While the size is a major draw, it currently struggles with maintenance issues, including overgrown foxtails that can be hazardous to pets. Many visitors report seeing an abundance of weeds and stickers that can hurt delicate paws. Sadly, these conditions have led some owners to avoid the park altogether, fearing for their dogs’ safety.

The park is conveniently located near downtown, which makes it easily accessible, but its proximity to homeless encampments has raised concerns among users. Many have noted the presence of trash and damage to facilities like water spigots, which detracts from the overall experience. Dog owners often find themselves dealing with unkempt areas and trash left by the surrounding environment, despite the park’s potential.

On a positive note, those who frequent Guadalupe appreciate the ample space and good fencing, allowing for safe playtime. There are some shade trees scattered throughout, offering a break from the sun. However, the lack of regular maintenance leaves much to be desired, and it’s clear that improvements are needed to make this park a truly enjoyable environment for both dogs and their owners.
