What People Are Saying

There is plenty of room for dogs to run and play
Huge park with lots of room to run around. Great green spaces surrounding it. Even if you skip the park itself it's a great walk around the reservoir/lake thing with the pup
It's a nice space, but there's no tables or benches, and NO poop bags. Since there's no one else here, I wanted to do a Zoom call, but there's nowhere to sit

About Barnum Dog Park

Barnum Dog Park in Denver offers a spacious area for pups to stretch their legs, featuring plenty of room to run and play. The park is divided into sections for high-energy and low-energy dogs, which is a thoughtful touch for accommodating different activity levels. However, many visitors have noted the discomfort of the rocky surface—composed entirely of small pebbles—making it less than ideal for some dogs, especially those sensitive to the terrain.

While the park is large and provides a pleasant overview of green spaces and even a nearby lake for walking, it lacks tables or benches for owners to relax. This can be inconvenient, especially on warmer days when shade is scarce, leading some pup parents to prefer the surrounding reservoir for shaded walks instead. Additionally, it’s mentioned that there are no poop bags available, which can be a hassle when heading out with your furry friend.

Despite these drawbacks, Barnum Dog Park is praised for its vastness and the inviting atmosphere, especially for energetic dogs who love to run. If agility equipment were added, it might enhance the experience further, but for now, it’s a decent spot for those looking to enjoy the space and surrounding area with their dogs. Just be prepared for the rocky ground and bring your own seating if you plan to stay a while!
