What People Are Saying

This is a surprisingly good dog park. In my experience, most people pick up after their dogs, so you’re not too likely to wind up stepping in poop (or having a dog who rolled in it 😖), but still watch your step because there are a lot of holes dug by dogs
Park is OK, average maintenance! Few spots in the fenced area are always muddy, dogs get spoiled easily
Love being my dogs here very nice , open area 🙅 closed area offered as well!!

About Edgewood Park Dog Park

Edgewood Park Dog Park in New Haven offers a decent space for pups to roam, particularly in the fenced area designated for large dogs, where they can enjoy grassy patches and dirt while chasing each other. While the area is well-fenced, it can be a mixed bag; some users have noted that the entrance gate is broken and the ground may get muddy after rain. It also lacks a clear path leading to the park, which could be inconvenient.

There’s a small area for little dogs, but many find it underwhelming and rarely used. The park does feature a convenient water fountain with a lower spout for the pups, adding to its accessibility during hot days. However, be cautious—some visitors have had concerns about encountering poorly socialized dogs within the fenced areas, especially if dog owners lack experience with their pets.

The park has good open spaces and room for your dog to run freely, but cleanliness can be an issue, with a few holes dug by playful paws and reports of users not always picking up after their pets. While it’s a fine option for a casual visit, those looking for a safer and cleaner experience may want to visit during peak daylight hours, as the atmosphere can feel less secure later in the day.
