About The Reserve at Sawgrass Dog Park

This dog park in Orlando is a spacious open area, making it one of the largest spots for pups in the region. With lush grass covering the ground, it encourages dogs to romp around and play freely. There’s a convenient water fountain available to keep your pets hydrated during their visits, which is essential given the Florida heat. However, be prepared for the lack of shaded areas; some dogs might not mind, but it can get hot.

Visitors mention a consistent issue with owners forgetting to scoop the poop, despite bags being provided on-site. While the park has benches for owners to sit and socialize, the absence of a separate area for small and large dogs can make it a bit chaotic at times. Still, many praise the friendly atmosphere and the overall cleanliness of the park when everyone does their part.

Parking is available off the street, albeit a bit limited. The park is open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM, allowing for plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors. Despite its few drawbacks, The Reserve at Sawgrass Dog Park remains a popular choice for dog lovers eager to let their pets play and make new friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Reserve at Sawgrass Dog Park fenced and safe for off-leash dogs?
Based on visitor reviews, The Reserve at Sawgrass Dog Park in Orlando does function as an off-leash area. Reviewers haven't flagged fencing issues, but it's worth doing a quick walk of the perimeter when you arrive to make sure your pup can't wander off.
Is there a water fountain at the dog park?
Yes! Reviewers specifically mention a water fountain on-site, which is a lifesaver given Orlando's heat. Bring a portable bowl just in case, but it's good to know hydration is covered.
Are there separate areas for small and large dogs?
There doesn't appear to be a dedicated small-dog area at The Reserve at Sawgrass Dog Park — reviewers don't mention one, and the description notes the mix of sizes can get a little chaotic. If you have a smaller or more timid dog, visiting during off-peak hours might be a better bet.
Is there shade at the park?
Shade is limited here — one reviewer specifically called out the lack of shade during the afternoon heat. If you're visiting in the warmer months, try to go early morning or closer to evening to keep both you and your dog more comfortable.
Are there benches and waste stations at the park?
Yes, there are 3 benches for owners to sit and relax, and waste bags are provided on-site. Reviewers do note that not everyone picks up after their dogs, so watch your step and do your part to keep the park nice for everyone.
