What People Are Saying

Not bad during daylight hours, pretty large plenty long enough for ball throwing single combined (large and small dogs) in the same fenced area, but I'd steer clear after dark just because of it's dark secluded woodsy location
I give this park 3 stars, because I would only recommend people to go out of pure convenience for their dogs and the owner as it may be close to someone's home
Love this secluded park. And l would not really call it a park, it's a fenced off area, kind of small compared to a park, but totally fenced in and big enough for my davhsunds to run around!!

About Temple Terrace Dog park

Temple Terrace Dog Park offers a quiet retreat nestled in a residential area, but be prepared for a mixed experience. While the park is fenced and has enough space for ball throwing, its small size can feel a bit cramped, especially when large and small dogs share the same area. Many visitors note the lack of amenities: there’s just one waste bag station, limited seating, and parking for only a couple of cars, which may prove challenging during busy times.

Reviews mention the park’s tranquil atmosphere, particularly during the day, making it ideal for quick visits. However, some caution against visiting after dark due to the secluded surroundings and inadequate lighting. With a sandy entrance and reports of neglect, you might want to keep your shoes on and watch your step to avoid debris left by previous visitors.

While it’s a convenient stop for those nearby, many dog owners recommend larger parks like Al Lopez or West Tampa over Temple Terrace if you’re looking for a more spacious and cleaner environment. Don’t forget to bring your own water for your furry friend, as there are no water stations available. Overall, this park is more about proximity than perfection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Temple Terrace Dog Park fully fenced?
Yes, the park is fully fenced in, so dogs can roam off-leash without worry. Reviewers note it's secure enough for smaller breeds like dachshunds to run freely.
Are large and small dogs separated at Temple Terrace Dog Park?
No, there's a single combined area where large and small dogs share the same fenced space, so keep that in mind if your pup is on the smaller or more timid side.
What hours is Temple Terrace Dog Park open?
Official hours aren't listed, but visitors strongly recommend sticking to daylight hours — the park's secluded, woodsy location makes it feel unsafe and poorly lit after dark.
Is there water available for dogs at the park?
There don't appear to be any water stations at Temple Terrace Dog Park, so bring your own water and a portable bowl, especially on hot Florida days.
Is Temple Terrace Dog Park worth visiting, or are there better options nearby?
It's a decent convenient option if you live close by in Temple Terrace, but reviewers suggest larger, better-maintained parks in the Tampa area if you have the flexibility to travel a bit further.
