About Windsor Heights Dog Park

Windsor Heights Dog Park offers a straightforward experience, perfect for those looking to let their dogs stretch their legs without any fees. Located near Colby Park, you’ll need to park and take a short walk along the bike trail to reach it. Some visitors have mentioned the challenge of carrying water from the lot, as there’s no onsite water fountain to refill bowls. Limited shade can be a downside, especially on hot days, but the park does provide rain barrels to help keep pups hydrated.

While the park might lack the amenities of more elaborate spaces like Paws and Pints, it still has its charm. Many dogs enjoy the separate areas designed for large and small breeds, although there have been some mix-ups with equipment placement. On quieter days, it can feel empty initially, but don’t be discouraged; it often fills up, leading to a lively playtime once other pups arrive.

For those with reactive dogs or specific preferences, access hours can feel limited, though most users report a friendly atmosphere with minimal issues. The park’s convenient location makes it a practical choice for local dog owners who appreciate the basic elements of a good dog park. Overall, it’s a solid option for giving your furry friend a space to roam.
