What People Are Saying

That's very nice I wish they had more of them cuz I live in roslindale and I have to go all the way to there to let my dog just run around and a little area you understand but it's okay you can bring your kids they play on one side while you bring your dog to the other and I think there was a sprinkler during the summer time a very isolated location up a hill
Small park, but nice design. Several levels for the dogs to run around
The dog park is too small, poorly designed and barely maintained

About Dog Park at Downer Avenue Park

Downer Avenue Park offers a quaint retreat for dog owners in Boston, featuring a compact design that makes use of vertical space. The park incorporates several levels, with peastone on the bottom and grass and dirt on the upper areas, providing variety for playful pups. Fido can hydrate at the dog water station while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere created by the surrounding green space.

However, its size can be a downside, with some visitors noting that the area feels cramped. While the lighting allows for visits after dark, maintenance is a concern highlighted by a few reviewers who wish for a more consistently clean environment. It’s essential for owners to clean up after their pets to keep it pleasant for all.

Despite its limitations, it’s an accessible spot where children can play nearby, making it convenient for families. The proximity to a children’s park adds to its appeal, and there’s easy parking at the site. If you’re looking for a quick spot to let your dog burn off some energy, Downer Avenue Park fits the bill, just be prepared for a smaller experience.
