What People Are Saying

Nice big area for dogs to run around! Don’t see any dog poo bags
The dog park is very nice. I would say that the area for dogs under 20 pounds is very very small, basically a little square with a couple benches while the 20 pounds and over area is huge with nice trails trees and overall a much better space
Nice and relaxing. It's not terribly crowded so you don't feel overwhelmed

About Reedy Creek Park Dog Park

Reedy Creek Park Dog Park in Charlotte offers a spacious environment for larger dogs, featuring a generously sized area complete with trails and shady trees. However, dog owners should note that the small dog area is notably cramped, consisting of a small square with just a couple of benches. Many visitors have pointed out that this area feels insufficient, especially since it lacks the engaging features found in the larger section. The lack of available dog waste bags has also been a common concern, so it’s advisable to bring your own.

While the park provides a relaxing atmosphere during quieter times, particularly on weekday mornings, weekends tend to draw larger crowds, which can lead to increased activity. The shaded areas are a great relief for big dogs, but smaller dogs may feel overwhelmed and find little to explore in their restricted space. It’s a mixed bag, as the large dog area does keep dogs entertained, but the small dog space could certainly use improvement.

Parking is conveniently available, and a porta-potty outside the enclosure is a helpful addition for pet parents. If you’re planning a visit, it’s a good idea to come prepared with your own waste bags and perhaps visit during off-peak hours for a more peaceful outing. Overall, while Reedy Creek Park Dog Park has its strengths, it may not be the best spot for small dogs looking for an engaging playtime.
