What People Are Saying

It gets pretty busy but it’s a great urban dog park with a ton of space and multiple fenced-in areas
***Update 06.10.25 Both sides of Large dog park are open, they have been for a while
Awesome dog park! It’s massive—has three different sections (one of which is always closed to help the grass grow back). Very clean and well kept. Definitely recommend visiting

About Dog Park at Dix Park

The Dog Park at Dix Park in Raleigh is a fantastic spot for furry friends. Spanning a massive area with three separate sections, it features both large and small dog zones, ensuring pups of all sizes can romp freely. The park is well-maintained and benefits from a large parking lot right by the entrance, making access a breeze, although it can get busy, especially around 5 PM.

You’ll appreciate the thoughtful touches here, like double gates for security and a water fountain with a bottle filler for both dogs and their humans. The large dog area is particularly inviting, with plenty of space to chase balls and socialize. Although there aren’t many trees within the dog park itself, nearby shady areas provide some respite from the sun, particularly in the afternoon.

Weekends here are lively, and the giant Troll sculptures add a fun touch to your visit. Many local dog owners recommend a trip, praising the cleanliness and organization of the space. It’s clear that the community loves this park, making it a must-visit for any Raleigh dog owner looking to give their pup a great day out.
