About Watsessing Dog Park

Watsessing Dog Park in Bloomfield offers a mixed bag of experiences for local dog owners. The park features separate areas for small and large dogs, each equipped with agility courses. However, the condition of the fencing is concerning, with gaps that could allow smaller dogs to escape easily, making some visitors wary about their pups’ safety.

While the park is appreciated for its cleanliness and beautiful surroundings, there are significant complaints about maintenance. Some areas, especially on the large dog side, have an overwhelming number of spotted lanternflies, which has made resting on benches there quite uncomfortable. Additionally, the lack of provided dog bags has left some areas littered with waste, discouraging responsible pet ownership.

Despite these issues, the park still attracts visitors who enjoy the tranquil vibe, especially when the weather is mild. The ongoing construction suggests improvements may be on the horizon, which might enhance the experience for both two-legged and four-legged visitors alike. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop—just come prepared!
