What People Are Saying

Hands down best dog park in West Portland, but is in DESEPRATE need of some new wood chips, a poop bag station, and some kind of signage or system to hold people accountable to pick up after their dogs
Great clean place to relax, have a picnic, take your kids to play, play basketball (which is rare at some parks in Portland), read, and bird watch especially during September
Love the people and dogs. Its a good dog park

About Wallace Dog Park

Located in West Portland, Wallace Dog Park offers a spacious fenced area for medium and large dogs to play. While many visitors rave about the friendly atmosphere and community feel, there’s a noticeable concern over the muddy mulch that can be tough on dogs’ paws, especially after rain. Some owners have suggested that a fresh layer of wood chips would enhance the experience, as well as the need for better waste management solutions like a dedicated poop bag station.

The park features plenty of room for dogs to run, but it seems that its popularity sometimes attracts careless pet owners. One visitor reported a distressing incident involving aggressive dogs, highlighting the need for better supervision and accountability among owners. Despite this, those who frequent the park find joy in the camaraderie and shared love for dogs, often enjoying picnics and activities like basketball in the adjacent areas.

With ample parking and a peaceful vibe, Wallace Dog Park is a good spot for casual outings. However, the muddy conditions and occasional rowdy behavior can detract from the experience. It’s a park where you might find a mix of moments—some playful and others perhaps a bit chaotic—but ultimately a place for dogs to socialize and enjoy the outdoors.
