What People Are Saying

We love the dog park almost as much as our dog Wally
Decent park with lots of wooded trails. Interstate roar can be heard in the background, so you're not completely out in nature
If you plan on bringing your dogs they require documentation of vaccines to get into the park. Other than that it was a beautiful park wish we had more time to explore everything

About Sesqui State Park Dog Park

Nestled within Sesqui State Park in Columbia, this dog park is a local favorite for socializing furry friends. The community of dog owners is welcoming, creating a friendly atmosphere where pets can play off-leash. However, be prepared to show proof of your dog’s spaying or neutering and vaccinations before hitting the trails—a requirement that some newcomers find out the hard way.

The park offers a mix of wooded trails and open areas where dogs can romp around freely. While some visitors appreciate the greenery, the sound of traffic from the nearby interstate can detract from the natural vibe. Amenities include a spigot for water, but it’s worth noting that water quality has received mixed reviews, and there are no fountains or fill stations near the restrooms.

Despite these hiccups, the park is a beautiful spot to explore. On sunny days, the lack of readily available water can be a downside for those planning to hike or spend a lot of time outdoors. Overall, if you’re in Columbia and looking for a place where your pup can make friends, this dog park is a solid choice—just come prepared!
