Located in Rowlett, Scentral Dog Park features two spacious sections—one for dogs over 30 lbs and another for those under. This setup generally keeps the pups safe and happy, but some visitors report frustrations with larger dogs occasionally slipping into the small dog area. While it’s a popular spot that many frequent several times a week, it does come with a few drawbacks, namely the lack of shade and the occasional disregard for park rules by other owners.

On the positive side, the park is known for its ample space, allowing larger dogs to romp freely. A community event like the recent Barks & Brats Festival showcased the park’s lively atmosphere, enhancing the experience for both dogs and owners. Unfortunately, many users wish for more trees to provide relief from the Texas heat, as the solitary tree at the back hardly cuts it during hotter months.

Though there are public restrooms nearby, the absence of drinking water stations for the dogs has been a common complaint. Visitors should come prepared to ensure their pets stay hydrated. Overall, Scentral Dog Park is a decent choice for energetic dogs and their owners, offering plenty of room to run, but it could benefit from some additional amenities to improve the experience.
