About Downtown Spokane Dog Park

If you’re looking for a quick spot to let your dog relieve themselves in downtown Spokane, this small park might do the trick, but don’t expect much more. With just a couple of benches and a sandy, dirt ground, it lacks the grassy space many dogs love. The broken gate latches are a particular concern, making it feel less secure, especially with the adjacent car traffic.

Most visitors mention the unpleasant cleanliness issues, with dog waste often left unpicked, which can make visits less enjoyable. While there’s a drinking fountain for both dogs and their owners, the park’s limited space doesn’t allow for much play, especially for larger breeds. The perimeter is quite low, which may pose a risk for smaller dogs, making supervision essential.

Despite the drawbacks, some appreciate the well-lit area with trees providing a bit of shade. However, given its size and issues with maintenance, many dog owners find it lacking compared to other parks in the area. If you’re in the neighborhood and just need a place for a bathroom break, this park can serve that purpose, but regular visitors may want to consider alternatives.

Yes, there's a drinking fountain available for both dogs and owners. However, visitors frequently mention cleanliness issues with dog waste not being picked up, so bring bags and keep an eye out.
Is this park good for larger dogs?
